HF: How did you discover this track ? Why did you choose to edit it ?

MF: I'm a big fan of YMO and the work of its members since my teenagehood. I believe I heard this record by Hosono about 5 years ago, when I moved to Berlin and was living with my old flatmates, who had a crazy amount of records, but I think it was 2 years ago when I heard ’Shambala Signal' consciously and imagined what I could do with those bells and percussions which are all over the original track, finally during quarantine I had plenty of time to work on music and remembered I wanted to edit this track. It was finished quite quickly and fluidly, since I still had, luckily, a fresh idea of what I wanted to do and how wanted it to sound. I used mainly the chops from the original track, soft synths and samplers to work it.
